Star Wars Screening & Celebration on May 4th

Portland Film Festival is hosting a celebration of Star Wars Day (May the 4th) with a program of new “Star Wars” fan films, costume contest and raffle for “Star Wars” related merchandise from the 90s, followed by a screening of “The Force Awakens.” 

We Support Pride

This weekend marks the 2015 Portland Pride Festival, run by local nonprofit Pride Northwest, supporting the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) culture. 

Host a filmmaker

The Portland Film Festival is currently seeking homestays for visiting filmmakers this September 1-7. Housing is needed from August 30th to September 8th, although individual needs will vary.

Fun Happens in Portland

The official mantra of the 2015 Portland Film Festival, “Fun Happens” draws upon the public’s love for Portland and the many activities, parties and film screenings planned for the city-wide festival, scheduled for September 1-7.

The Portland Film Festival is excited to announce its inclusion in the Moviemaker Magazine list of “50 Film Festivals Worth the Entry Fee.” 

McCall Steps Up After Coordinator’s Death

In mid January, Director of Volunteers for the Portland Film Festival, Ric Jones passed away due to heart conditions. Festival Executive Director, Josh Leake, spearheaded an initiative (PDF Link to Letter) to remember Jones by creating a volunteer award.
