Laurels For the Portland Film Festival

Broad range of Genre, Length & Attendence
Last year, over 92% of our selected films were represented by filmmakers, cast, crew and friends in attendance. Portland features a rich program of films in the Fiction, Non-Fiction, World Cinema, Transmedia, VR,  Short and Student Filmmaking categories, as well as several dedicated programs, the Portland Festival offers emerging and established artists to present their films in a world-class screening environment, with curated competitions, Audience Awards, and opportunities to reach attending members of the national press.

Daily Events and Filmmaker Activities
Every day of the Festival, we host director coffee chats for the public, giving Portland a great opportunity to learn more about your film and process. In past years we’ve hosted it at the world’s most popular book store, Powell’s, radio stations and more. There are also plenty of opportunities for attending filmmakers to be included on workshop and panel offerings too. Don’t miss the daily party or our filmmaker lounge!

Filmmaker & VIP Lounge
Filmmakers are the VIP attendees at our Festival. We have a filmmaker lounge open every day offering free non and alcoholic drinks, food and snacks plus high-speed wifi. Don’t miss the daily full dinner service!

Housing Scholarships & Homestays
Last year we gave out housing scholarships and stipends. We also have a four-year old homestay program that offers filmmakers access to local homestay opportunities during the film festival at no cost.

Past Attendees & Alumni
Aisha Tyler, Mario Van Peebles, Joe Dante, Sam Hamm, Mark Boone Junior, Eli Roth, Justin Long, Haley Joel Osment, Abby Elliott, Chris Williams, Chuck Palahniuk, Jason Mamoa, Doug Benson, Josh McDermott, Jim O’Heir, Vanna White, Leslie Dixon and more.

Portland Film Festival Location
Hosted in one centralized location in Portland, its public transportation and accessibility are matched by very few cities. Portland offers a relaxed community and quirky environment with sophisticated audiences deeply engaged in the art of film.
